Good morning. My name is Bill Sumas. I'm Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of Village. On behalf of the entire Board, our officers and employees, I would like to welcome you to the Village Super Market 2021 Annual Shareholders Meeting and thank you for attending.
Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, we're pleased to conduct our annual meeting virtually again this year, as we believe that is in the best interest of the health and well-being of our stockholders, employees, and other meeting participants.
Before we start on the formal business of the meeting, I wanted to recognize and thank our associates and management. The pandemic and its effects continue to linger and impact our business in our everyday life. Our team has been unwavering in their commitment to meeting our customers' wants and needs through these uncertain times. We believe that we will emerge from the pandemic a stronger company that is due in large part to the hard work and other dedication of our 7,000-plus associates.
