McMahon and was acquired by the Charles Schwab Corporation in 2012. Both the CEO and CIO remained with the company to oversee the now subsidiary after the merger. The company invests in the public equity market of the U.S., focusing on growth stocks with dividends to invest in. Both of its total number of accounts and total assets under management have been increasing in recent years with its total held accounts growing from 2,500 five years ago to over 8 times that amount and its total managed assets growing significantly from $800 million to approximately 8 times that amount today. ThomasPartners mainly caters to individuals, which alone makes up almost two thirds of its client base, and also provides services to high net worth individuals, pension and profit sharing plans, charities, corporations, state or municipal entities, and investment advisors, in order of decreasing clientele.
