According to informed sources, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), composed of senior officials from the President's cabinet, has communicated to President Biden that it has not reached a consensus on whether Nippon Steel's acquisition of U.S. Steel poses a threat to national security. The committee is reportedly deadlocked on the issue and unable to provide a definitive opinion.
