Tesla (TSLA, Financial) is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles due to an issue with the tire pressure monitoring system warning light. The recall affects certain 2024 Cybertruck models, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y. The warning light may fail to remain illuminated between driving cycles, potentially not alerting drivers to low tire pressure, which can increase accident risk. Tesla has provided a free software update to address the problem.
This recall is part of Tesla's ongoing efforts to address vehicle issues. Earlier, Tesla recalled over 9,000 Model X vehicles due to a roof trim issue. In the first half of the year, Tesla recalled nearly 2.6 million vehicles in the U.S., second only to Ford. A major recall involved 1.85 million vehicles due to a software issue that could prevent the detection of an unlocked hood, posing a safety risk. The issue will be resolved via an over-the-air software update.
