According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, President-elect Donald Trump transferred his 114.75 million shares of Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT, Financial) to the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust. This transaction involved no monetary exchange, and Trump remains the sole beneficiary of the trust. Based on Trump Media's closing price of $35.41 per share, the stock transfer is valued at over $4 billion.
The news led to a pre-market drop of over 4% in Trump Media's stock price. Since Trump is the trust's beneficiary, he indirectly owns the transferred shares. Trump has been the largest individual shareholder of Trump Media, holding nearly 57% of the shares.
Donald Trump Jr. is the sole trustee of the trust, with exclusive voting and investment rights over its securities. Notably, Trump made a similar transfer to the revocable trust before his first presidential term in 2017.
