According to reports, Honda (HMC, Financial) and Nissan are planning to enter discussions regarding a potential merger, which could eventually include Mitsubishi Motors. The two Japanese automotive giants aim to sign a memorandum of understanding to explore holding equity in a new holding company. The merged entity would operate under this company. This strategic move is intended to bolster their competitive stance against electric vehicle rivals like Tesla (TSLA) and Chinese automakers.
