Google (GOOG, Financial) and Samsung have announced a collaboration to enter the mixed reality market. They plan to launch a new operating system and headset to compete with devices from Apple (AAPL) and Meta (META). The collaboration includes a Google Android software version tailored for extended reality (XR) and an upcoming Samsung-manufactured headset, codenamed Project Moohan. This device, set to debut next year, features elements similar to Apple's Vision Pro, such as a curved front, built-in speakers, and a high-resolution display. However, the market notes that Samsung's headset feels lighter compared to Apple's offerings.
