Rocket Lab USA (RKLB, Financial) has successfully completed a suborbital mission under the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) program. In November, the mission, conducted for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), tested hypersonic technologies essential to the development of U.S. capabilities in this area.
Implemented through the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane using the Strategic and Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems (S2MARTS) Other Transaction Authority (OTA), the initiative supports the maturation of hypersonic technologies as it accelerates. "Increased testing opportunities using commercial launch services provide a cost-effective, frequent testing opportunity for technology development," said George Rumford, Director of the DoD Test Resource Management Center (TRMC).
In another mission, Rocket Lab displayed its suite of marketing technologies for hypersonic testing, which is more payload space-friendly. In addition, the company provided end-to-end support, from design to manufacture, through accelerated integration of hypersonic instrumentation.
Rocket Lab said it increased revenue 55% year over year during Q3 2024 and expects revenues of between $125 million and $135 million this Q4. Neutron, a cornerstone of the company's growth strategy, gained its first commercial order and qualified.
Meanwhile, Rocket Lab also was awarded a $23.9 million U.S. Department of Commerce grant to develop semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.
