AstraZeneca has appointed Iskra Reic as the new Global Executive Vice President and Head of International Business. She will oversee the strategic operations in regions including China, Asia, Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. Reic replaces Wang Lei, who is currently on leave due to an investigation in China.
Wang Lei's detention was mentioned in AstraZeneca's third-quarter report, but the company has not been notified of any investigation against it. AstraZeneca continues to operate normally in China under its current general manager and is ready to cooperate with the authorities if required.
Reic joined AstraZeneca in 2001 and has held leadership roles in various regions. She holds degrees in business and leadership, and dental medicine.
