Amazon has developed a new generative AI model, codenamed "Olympus," capable of processing text, images, and videos. This innovation aims to reduce Amazon's reliance on Anthropic. The Olympus model can understand scenes in images and videos and use simple text prompts to search for specific clips or scenes, such as crucial moments in a basketball game. Additionally, it can create content like "the most delicious coffee" or "raindrops hitting the ground" using AI, potentially transforming how customers interact with visual data, making searches faster, more intuitive, and precise.

Amazon is expected to announce details about this model at the upcoming AWS re:Invent conference. Recently, Amazon increased its investment in Anthropic by $4 billion, bringing its total investment to $8 billion.
