In his prospective cabinet, Donald Trump has proposed Linda McMahon, former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) CEO currently part of TKO Group Holdings (TKO, Financial), as education secretary. Previously serving as the head of the Small Business Administration during his first term, McMahon is a well-known member of the Trump transition team.
Trump talked about McMahon's consistency with her educational programs on Truth Social, saying, "As Secretary of Education, Linda will fight relentlessly to extend 'Choice' to every state in America and empower parents to make the best education decisions for their families.” Trump reaffirmed his promise in past campaigns—giving the states back authority over education.
With her husband, Vince McMahon, McMahon co-founded WWE, now a part of TKO Group. Originally considered as a candidate for commerce secretary, Trump ultimately chose Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick for that post on Tuesday. Given McMahon's close relationship with the wrestling franchise, TKO Group (TKO, Financial), which manages WWE and UFC, may attract attention following the revelation.
