UBS Group's hedge fund unit is undergoing significant restructuring as Adolfo Oliete, the global head of research, departs the bank. Oliete, who has been with the Swiss bank for over 12 years, also managed the Asia-Pacific investment operations within the division. He previously worked at Highbridge Capital Management as a convertible bond arbitrage trader before joining UBS's hedge fund solutions team in London in 2012, where he later became the head of investments for the Asia-Pacific region.
In June, UBS, headquartered in Zurich, announced the creation of a unified global alternative investments unit managing $250 billion in assets. Despite Oliete's departure, UBS declined to comment on the matter, and efforts to reach Oliete for a statement were unsuccessful.
