Guangzhou Leads China's Double 11 Shopping Festival with Record Online Sales

The 2024 Double 11 Shopping Festival witnessed Guangzhou's online retail sales reaching 1,678.8 billion RMB, marking an annual growth of 11.6%. Among the top-selling categories, apparel and textiles generated sales of 477.1 billion RMB, cosmetics 280.1 billion RMB, and household goods 207.7 billion RMB.

Overall, combined sales from e-commerce and live-streaming platforms hit 1.44 trillion RMB, up by 26.6% from the previous year. Key product categories included household appliances at 193 billion RMB, mobile and digital devices at 170.6 billion RMB, and apparel at 168.4 billion RMB.

Data from JD.com (JD, Financial) reveals that Guangdong Province ranks highest in purchasing power nationwide, with Guangzhou leading within the province.
