Hyundai and Kia Report 17.4% Increase in U.S. Sales Driven by Hybrid Demand

Hyundai Motor and Kia Corporation announced a 17.4% increase in total U.S. sales in October compared to the previous year, fueled by a surge in demand for hybrid vehicles. The companies reported a combined sales figure of 147,613 units, marking a record for October.

Hyundai, including its Genesis brand, achieved sales of 78,705 units, a rise of 18.3%. Kia recorded sales of 68,908 units, reflecting a 16.5% increase from the previous year.

The companies' eco-friendly vehicle sales reached 31,668 units, showing a 52% year-on-year growth. Hybrid vehicles were the standout segment with a 64.9% increase, reaching 21,679 units and setting a new monthly sales record.
