Barclays (BCS, Financial) experienced a significant stock increase, with shares rising 5.13% to $13.11. The surge followed the bank's announcement of its third-quarter earnings. For the three months ending September 30, Barclays reported a pre-tax profit of £2.23 billion ($2.88 billion), marking an 18% year-over-year increase and surpassing market expectations of £1.97 billion.

The group's revenue also saw a 5% rise, reaching £6.55 billion, which was higher than the anticipated £6.46 billion. This strong financial performance contributed to the positive market reaction and the notable increase in Barclays' share price.
