Reports suggest that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM, Financial) is planning to build more factories in Europe, focusing on the artificial intelligence (AI) chip market to expand its global business. TSM has already started constructing its first wafer plant in Dresden, Germany, with plans for additional facilities targeting various market sectors. However, the company has stated that it remains focused on its current global expansion projects and has no new investment plans at this time.

As the world's largest chip manufacturer, TSM produces most of its chips in Taiwan. Currently, the company is investing billions of dollars in new factories across the United States, Japan, and Germany. In August, TSM began constructing a €10 billion chip manufacturing plant in Dresden, its first facility in the European Union, with the German government providing €5 billion in subsidies.

Additionally, there are indications of mounting pressure on TSM to expand further in the U.S., regardless of the outcome of the November U.S. elections. The company has already committed over $65 billion to establish three plants in Arizona.
